Crystal Hall

de Souza Nurse

RN - Coordinator of nursing of the GBHS Cancer Centre - Grey Bruce Health Services Cancer Centre

Crystal has been a primary nurse in the Oncology/Hematology Cancer Centre at Grey Bruce Health Services since 2014 after working for almost 10 years in Emergency Medicine.

Crystal has worked towards her De Souza Designation over the past 8 years learning and growing as an RN to increase her knowledge base and help give her patients the most comprehensive education possible for their journey through cancer. Crystal completed her CON(C) in November of 2020 and soon thereafter became a de Souza Nurse Associate.

During her redeployment to the emergency department for most of 2021, Crystal continued her passion for cancer-related education and joined with the IMD Health team to create a comprehensive webpage for use at GBHS to streamline all Cancer-related education throughout the hospital for both staff and patients alike.  Crystal has since completed a 75-hour fellowship helping to implement this education program and shared it with other health disciplines in the hospital. The GBHS team has educated over 1500 patients to date with this new technology, which could not come at a better time, as we see virtual care increasing exponentially.

Most recently, Crystal was promoted to Coordinator of nursing of the GBHS Cancer Centre where she seeks to continue supporting staff to provide patients with the best possible care.
