Advanced Practice Nurse Educator – de Souza Institute (February 1st) – de Souza Institute is hiring an Advanced Practice Nurse Educator for a permanent full-time position. The institute is part of the University Health Network Education Portfolio, to support health care professionals that care for cancer patients and their families. Working with the Institute’s education and information technology teams, and in conjunction with UHN Education’s strategic plan, the Educator will lead the development and implementation of oncology education programs for health care professional across Canada, with clinical foci of oncology and palliative care.
Registered Nurse – Permanent Full-time Ambulatory Clinics/Brachytherapy OR, Durham Regional Cancer Centre – Lakeridge Health (February 22nd) As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will use the nursing process to assist with the development and implementation of a plan of care for patients receiving treatment. Completion of a recognized Operating Room Nursing certificate (required); Recent post anesthetic care experience (required); Willingness to complete Canadian Nurses Association certification as Certified Oncology Nurse CON(C) or Oncology Nursing Society (OCN) when eligible to write (it is the expectation that the successful candidate will take the examination); Completion of de Souza Institute Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice course or equivalent – If you do not have this certification at hire, completion of certification within 6 months of hire (required); Recent experience in Oncology Nursing (i.e. on an acute oncology floor, or ambulatory oncology clinic within the past 3 years) (asset); ACLS (asset).
Patient Care Manager, Ambulatory Clinics – Durham Regional Cancer Centre (February 1st) – The Patient Care Manager will lead and support the daily operations of the ambulatory clinics at the Durham Regional Cancer Centre (DRCC). The Patient Care Manager will be required to facilitate the implementation of evidence informed practice to achieve the delivery of excellent, high quality patient care across the departments within this portfolio while collaborating with other Patient Care Managers to enhance the quality of care across the cancer journey.
Registered Nurse – Chemotherapy Unit – Regular Full-time – Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (January 25th) Experience in oncology nursing required; minimum of five (5) years related practical experience, de Souza chemotherapy/biotherapy course required or willing to obtain and maintain.
Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Cancer Clinic – Southlake Regional Health Centre (January 24th) Must have 1 year of recent and relevant clinical nursing experience (within the last 5 years) on an adult oncology/Cancer unit or program. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a primary nurse in an ambulatory clinic environment preferred.
Oncology Nurse Navigator (Breast Health) – Humber River Hospital (January 24th) Completion of de Souza Institute Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course required,additional de Souza Institute oncology core curriculum courses preferred eg. Psychosocial Care, Interprofessional Psychosocial Oncology Distance Education (IPODE), Patient Navigation.
Registered Nurse – Kingston Health Sciences Centre (January 16th) Oncology Nursing experience preferred, Certification in chemotherapy/deSouza preferred, completion within 6 months required – annual recertification required.
