Compassion fatigue can have lasting effects on veterinary professionals. As a result there is an urgent need to increase mental health awareness and education in the workplace. An often overlooked segment of the health care professionals’ network veterinarians face daily challenges on how to cope with compassion fatigue, financial stress and loss.
