Martine Cantin

de Souza Nurse Associate

RN - National Clinical Nurse Educator - INVIVA Infusion and Nursing Service

Martine began her nursing career in ICU in the primary trauma centre for Quebec City. Over the span of her clinical hospital career, she worked in a multitude of ICU settings including Cardiac Surgery, Transplant, Neuro surgery ICU, CCU, MICU, NICU, and finally in Labour and Delivery. Initially leaving the hospital setting to become a clinical infusion nurse 10 years ago, Martine rapidly became involved in the management of the private infusion services. Martine established a provincial infusion network in Quebec, opening the first 10 clinics for her company in that province, and hiring all staff necessary for the Quebec branch office. She helped launch different programs for novel biologics, including those for Oncology.
In a role first paralleling – and now superseding – her administrative activities, Martine has developed the bilingual training curriculum for infusion nurses working for Inviva. She initiated the protocols and first infusions of bio-hazardous medications in the clinics in collaboration with pharmacy services. She has continuously built her broad based expertise as a recognized leader in training for the Infusion nurses: she has obtained formal certification as a Clinical Research Associate and Diabetes Educator thru the Michener Institute. Martine is a member of RNAO, CANO, INS, CVAA and CSGNA and has her active nursing licenses in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec
